The priest class is less like a conventional cleric class and more like a spell caster with influence over an opponent's mind. They have been described by many as the best healer and buffer in the game which is just as well as they can only wear cloth armour. However, they can apply buffs to themselves to focus their attacks when engaged in melee combat to stop their spell casting being interrupted when hit by a melee weapon. They can wield one-handed maces, daggers, staves and wands.

The Priests are adept at controlling the mind of his enemy, although only one mind at a time. Never-the-less he can dominate and mesmerize them to his will. He can also see through an enemy's eyes with a 'remote vision' skill. Interestingly, priests can walk the world of Holy Magic or Shadow Magic 'curse-type' spells that damage over time as well as direct damage.

ur kinda making it seem like a priest's main job is to Mind control...or at least thats the big thing that they offer. priests offer giant heals, huge mana pools and along with tanks are the key to any group or raid.

they have 3 talent trees, discipline, holy, and shadow.

Discipline is very balanced and can be used for DPS or Holy Builds. It offers talents to increase mana pools by up to 10% and another that increases it by 5%. There are many buff talents such as Improved Power Word: Shield and Fortitude. For DPS there are talents that increase damage done with holy spells (holy fire, smite, etc.).

Holy spec is short and sweet. Decreases mana costs and cast times for spells, offers higher crit chances for heals, and offers new healing spells (lightwell, circle of healing, holy nova).

Shadow Spec is all DPS...most priests spec shadow to lvl to 60 and respec after that to a healing build for raids. This offers shadowform, darkness (may be wrong on name) both of which increase shadow damage done. mind flay is also very useful learned at lvl 20 minimum. most talents however increase shadow damage done which is awesome!
